REIKI TREATMENT
A Reiki treatment can take many forms and be used for many things. It is a way of increasing the life force energy of the receiver be it human, animal, vegetable or mineral.
We can 'do' a formal treatment in the comfort of a dedicated space, using a massage couch, soft lights, music and candles or, equally as effective, we can sit on top of a bus and connect with the energy to send it forward to an accident which has just happened along the road in much the same way as we would send a prayer.
A treatment given by a practitioner to a client is carried out in a professional manner normally with a medical and lifestyle history taken and records of the session written down.
Reiki practitioners work within a Code of Ethics although at this time not governed by any statutory body.
You do not have to have any trappings, wear special clothing or any such thing for Reiki to work and is always carried out with the recipient fully clothed.
If you are ever asked to remove anything more than outdoor clothes and shoes then run a mile!
Treatment can be given hands on or just above the body using various positions around the head, upper body, abdominal region, hips, legs and feet. Sometimes the practitioner will treat around or above the body in the aura or even 'beam' Reiki to the client like a satellite dish.
A treatment may last for up to about one hour or can be short and sweet. I believe that some Reiki is better than no Reiki and take every opportunity I can to recieve and send it.
Reiki can also be sent distantly, to the past or future and be used for all levels of healing. Emotional, physical, mental and spiritual.
